Steamer's Carpet Care aims to recognize San Antonio-area charities and is currently taking nominations for charities to spotlight.

Steamer’s Carpet Care has started a new series on its blog to recognize charities in the San Antonio area.
The San Antonio carpet cleaning company began this feature last month after looking for more ways to give back to local nonprofit organizations. Steamer’s Carpet Care offers free carpet cleaning for soldiers through Operation Homefront and runs an annual fall food drive to benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.
Last month, the Steamer’s Carpet Care blog chose Texas Public Radio for October’s charity spotlight. Texas Public Radio includes three radio stations in the San Antonio area: KPAC, a 24-hour classical music station, KSTX, which airs a number of National Public Radio programs, and KTXI, which plays both classical music and NPR news.
Steamer’s Carpet Care is taking nominations for other San Antonio charities to feature as part of its monthly blog series. Nominations can be made through blog comments or through the company’s Twitter or Facebook pages.
“We care a lot about the San Antonio area,” said Jon Bibb, the owner of Steamer’s Carpet Care. “We’re always looking for ways to help the organizations that make our area better. We run a food drive each year and find a few other ways for community giving, but we wanted something we could do continuously throughout the year. That’s when we came up with the idea of a charity spotlight so we could recognize nonprofits for the great work they do.”
Steamer’s Carpet Care is always looking for innovative ways to give back to the San Antonio community. Earlier this fall, Steamer’s Carpet Care decided to donate a dollar for every like their Facebook page received for the month of September to the San Antonio Food Bank. As a result of the company’s donation, the food bank was able to purchase 1,990 pounds of food for hungry people in the San Antonio area.
