One killed in south Indianapolis bar shooting

INDIANAPOLIS -

A man is dead following a shooting at a south side Indianapolis bar late Monday night.

Police were called to the Krazy St. Grille around 11 p.m. on reports of multiple shots fired during a fight. When they arrived, they found one man shot several times, and another man shot once.

Medics pronounced the first man dead after attempts to revive him failed. Police later identified him as 29-year-old Joshua Bolin of Greenwood.

Tuesday, detectives arrested 24-year-old Brandon Hicks of Indianapolis and preliminarily charged him with murder in the shooting. Police say it appears Hicks also shot himself during a struggle with bar employees, who held him until officers arrived.

Other detectives are interviewing witnesses at IMPD headquarters downtown.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call IMPD Homicide detectives at 317.327.3475.

Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 317.262.TIPS (8477).
