GREENFIELD -

A Mexican restaurant in Greenfield was destroyed by fire Monday evening.

Firefighters say the fire broke out around 6 p.m. at the El Rodeo restaurant on North State Street. Fifteen employees and an unknown number of patrons were inside the restaurant at the time. A manager was able to help get everyone out of the restaurant safely.

The fire engulfed the building, completely destroying it. The same restaurant had a small fire several weeks ago, but had since reopened for business.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
