FORT WAYNE -

Former Fort Wayne Mayor Win Moses says he's likely done running for office after losing his bid for an 11th term in the Indiana House.

The 69-year-old Democrat tells The News-Sentinel that he plans to step away from politics and spend time with his family and run his business that owns apartment complexes and mobile-home parks.

Moses was a Fort Wayne City Council member in the 1970s before serving as mayor of Indiana's second-largest city from 1980 through 1987. He faced a campaign finance controversy while mayor but was first elected to the Indiana House in 1992.

Republican Martin Carbaugh defeated Moses in a district made more GOP friendly in redistricting. The campaign included criticism of Moses' role in the boycotts by House Democrats over the right-to-work law.
