BLOOMINGTON -

Cody Zeller had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Christian Watford had a career-high 15 boards, leading No. 1 Indiana to a 97-54 rout of Bryant in the season opener.

The Hoosiers (1-0) have won 15 consecutive openers and 28 straight home openers.

Bryant (0-1) was led by Alex Francis with 15 points and Frankie Dobbs with 12 in its first game as a full-time Division I member - and the first meeting in school history against a No. 1 team.

It was no match.

Bryant took a brief 15-14 lead midway through the first half, but freshman Yogi Ferrell made two free throws to start an 11-0 run that gave Indiana control. The Hoosiers followed with a 13-3 run and closed the half with a 10-0 spurt to go up 48-28.

The victory came on the same night athletic director Fred Glass announced coach Tom Crean agreed to a two-year contract extension.
