Usually, companies that make alcohol spend lots of money to get their products seen by of people. But some booze makers are upset because their products are featured in the Denzel Washington movie "Flight."
Anheuser-Busch has asked Paramount to either obscure or remove the Budweiser logo from the film. In one scene, Washington's character - a functioning alcoholic - chugs a Bud while behind the wheel. Washington's character is often seen drinking vodka in the film. And the people who distribute Stolichnaya vodka have complained it didn't license its brand for the film - and would have refused if asked.
These days many companies will pay producers to have their brands seen on camera in movies or TV shows. But experts say studios don't have to get permission before featuring a product in their work - and there is little that can be done to stop a TV show or movie from showing a particular product.
