INDIANAPOLIS -

An elderly driver lost control of her vehicle and crashed through five backyards and struck two homes in Wayne Township. She was treated and released at the scene, along with her son, who was a passenger in the car.

It happened at W. 10th St. and Country Club Rd. on the Indianapolis west side shortly before 5:00 pm.

Police say the driver was traveling with her son as a passenger northbound on Country Club Road when she lost control. She told officers she couldn't remember the crash.

Firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene. The car had come to rest on the rear deck of a home. There was damage to several fences and minor damage to the homes.

None of the residents were injured, although a 2 x 6 post came through the windshield between driver and passenger, barely missing them both.

IMPD is investigating the accident.
