JACKSONVILLE -

The Indianapolis Colts won their fourth straight game with a 27-10 win over Jacksonville on the road Thursday night.

Indianapolis scored first when Andrew Luck drove the Colts deep into Jaguars territory midway through the first quarter, but Indianapolis had to settle for an Adam Vinatieri field goal and a 3-0 lead. Jacksonville's Josh Scobee missed a 44-yard attempt on the Jaguars' next possession.

Luck then drove the Colts 66 yards in eight plays, capping the drive with a five-yard scramble into the end zone. An interception by Jaguars cornerback Aaron Ross was negated by a roughing the passer penalty on the first play of the drive.

Luck scored again after the Colts recovered a Laurent Robinson fumble. The rookie quarterback pushed in from inside the one-yard line to extend the lead to 17-0. The big play on the drive was a 44-yard pass from Luck to wide receiver Donnie Avery to the Jaguars' six-yard line.

Scobee kicked a 40-yard field goal right before halftime to put Jacksonville on the board.

Darius Butler intercepted a Blaine Gabbert pass on Jacksonville's first possession of the second half and returned it 11 yards for a touchdown to put the Colts up 24-3.

After back-up quarterback Chad Henne brought Jacksonville within 24-10 with a four-yard touchdown pass to Cecil Shorts in the fourth quarter, Luck and the Colts took almost six minutes off the clock. Vinatieri's second field goal of the game made the Colts lead 27-10.

Butler sealed the win with an interception on a wildly-batted ball on fourth-and-1 with two minutes remaining. At least three players tipped Henne's pass into the air before Butler secured it and ran down the sideline, deep into Jacksonville territory.

"Obviously, we are extremely excited about getting a road win in our division, staying basically in the hunt," said interim Head Coach Bruce Arians. "Wasn't the best game for 60 minutes, but it was one of our better efforts. I knew the turnovers were going to come sooner or later and they did. It's one thing Chuck (Pagano) and I talked about this week, he said, 'Just sit tight, if you talk about it too much, it's not going to happen,' and they did, and they were big."

Luck finished with 227 yards passing, 96 of those going to wide receiver Reggie Wayne, who had eight catches in the game.

Indianapolis plays at New England next Sunday.

Game preview

The surprising Colts are in Jacksonville to kick off Week 10 of the NFL season against the Jaguars tonight. You can watch the game on WTHR Channel 13 at 8:00 pm.

Led by the quarterback they got with the No. 1 pick in the draft following last season's 2-14 finish, Indianapolis has won three straight to improve to 5-3. Andrew Luck threw for a rookie-record 433 yards in Sunday's victory over Miami.

The Jags may have a shot at this year's No. 1 pick. They've lost five in a row and are 1-7 on the season. That ties Kansas City for worst in the league.

Around three dozen Colts players, including Luck, have shaved their heads in honor of coach Chuck Pagano, who lost his hair while undergoing treatment for leukemia.
