Rupert BonehamFormer "Survivor" contestant Rupert Boneham is drawing support from voters unhappy with the traditional candidates in his race to become Indiana's next governor.
Katrina Schaler of Indianapolis says she supported Boneham in Tuesday's election because he "hasn't been tainted with all the politics" that opponents Mike Pence and John Gregg have been. Pence is a six-term Republican congressman and Gregg is a former Democratic speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives.
Boneham also got a nod from 30-year-old Army veteran Nick Osborne, who says he supports Boneham's positions over those of "Christian conservatives." Osborne said he also supported Libertarians Andrew Horning for U.S. Senate and Gary Johnson for president.
The winner of Tuesday's election will succeed two-term Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels. State law limits Daniels from seeking a third term.
