Budweiser seeks removal from 'Flight'

LOS ANGELES -

Anheuser-Busch is asking the studio behind the Denzel Washington film "Flight" to remove images of its beers from the already-released film and all future versions.

Washington plays a highly functional alcoholic pilot in the film, which features his character drinking several types of alcohol. One scene features Washington's character drinking a Budweiser while driving.

Budweiser Vice President Rob McCarthy says in a written statement that his company was not consulted on the use of its products in the film. It's asking Paramount Pictures to obscure its logo from digital prints of the film already in theaters and future versions.

An email sent to the studio was not immediately returned.

The film also features several vodka brands, including Stolichnaya, which says it didn't license its brand for the film.
