FORT WAYNE -

Police in northeast Indiana say a passenger jumped out of a moving car while quarreling with the driver and was struck and killed by another vehicle.

The Journal Gazette and WANE-TV report that officers who arrived on the scene early Sunday morning found a dead man lying in a Fort Wayne street.

Witnesses told police the man had jumped out of a Jeep and fallen into the street, where he was struck by another car. Witnesses also told police the man had been arguing with the Jeep's driver before he jumped out.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police didn't release his identity.

Police say the driver of the car that hit the man wasn't injured.
