An Indianapolis man died in a single-vehicle crash on I-70 near downtown Friday night.
Witnesses told police 70-year-old Jessie Stewart was driving west on the interstate just east of downtown when his vehicle made an abrupt left turn and crashed head-on into the concrete dividing wall.
Stewart was transported to Wishard Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A state trooper on the scene said there were open alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle and believes alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
A pedestrian died after being struck by a sheriff's vehicle around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 5200 block of Madison Avenue on the south side of Indianapolis.More >>
