INDIANAPOLIS -

Classmates, family and friends will participate in a candlelight vigil this weekend to mourn the death of 14-year-old Nicholas King.

The vigil will take place at 7:00 pm Saturday at 5845 Le Fleur Court, where King died.

King, a Franklin Township middle school student, died from a gunshot wound to the neck when his best friend tried to scare him with a rifle around 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 30th. His 15-year-old friend told police he did not know the gun was loaded when he got it from his 18-year-old brother Kevin Edwards.

According to court documents, Edwards faces one count of aiding in reckless homicide and one count of dangerous control of a firearm. Both are felonies. The 15-year-old faces a juvenile charge of reckless homicide.

Although police arrested and detained both teens, there are no formal charges right now. The 15- and 18-year-olds' parents say they want all of Kings friends and classmates to mourn in the place where he accidentally lost his life.

The Saturday vigil will take place outside the home in the front yard.
