MARION -

Marion Police say they have a person of interest in connecting with the shootings of two people, including one who died.

Deputy Police Chief Cliff Sessoms says the shootings occurred Thursday night while the two victims sat in a car in an alley in the city about 60 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in an alley between Gallatin and Nebraska Streets on the south side of Marion around 10:20 p.m. Thursday.

One victim was found in the alley, the other ran two blocks east to the Southside Diner at 3015 S. Washington Street. Both victims were taken to Marion General Hospital, where the victim found in the alley was pronounced dead. The condition of the other victim is not known at this time.

Police have not released any more information about the victims.
