JENNINGS COUNTY -

Republican candidate for governor Mike Pence is reaching the far corners of Indiana in a search for votes in next Tuesday's election.

The congressman started his day in Dillsboro in southeast Indiana's Dearborn County.

"In Washington D.C., we have not had government as good as our people, but it's different in Indiana," Pence said.

A week ago, Pence had asked U.S. Senate candidate RIchard Mourdock to apologize for comments he had made regarding abortion. Thursday, he was enthusiastically endorsing him.

"I encourage you to support and endorse Richard Mourdock as the next senator from the state of Indiana," Pence told a crowd.

Asked about the remarks after the campaign appearance, Pence told Eyewitness News, "I continue to support Richard Mourdock and I think it is time to move on."

The campaign was then on to North Vernon, where the Mike Pence Big Red Truck Tour really took place in the back of his big red truck.

"Thank you for joining me in North Vernon in Jennings County. Five days from a victory for all the people of Indiana and for all the people of the United States of America," he said.
