Southwest stopping Indy-Midway flights

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

Southwest Airlines confirms they are stopping all four non-stop flights between Indianapolis and Chicago-Midway effective November 3rd.

Southwest cites the short flight distance and high fuel costs as the reason.

Southwest plans to add addition non-stop routes from Indianapolis to additional cities in the coming months. American and United still offer non-stop flights to Chicago.

Southwest employs 77 people in Indianapolis and offers 15 daily non-stop departures to Baltimore/Washington, Denver, Houston (Hobby), Kansas City, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix and Tampa Bay.
