Green Day call off more concerts, move up "Tre" release

Posted: Updated:

Green Day won't tour anytime soon, but they'll make up for it by releasing the third album of their trilogy sooner.

Green Day have called off all concerts for the rest of the year and they will postpone their planned arena tour next year. They have cleared their schedule through February 8. Bassist Mike Dirnt says the well-being of singer Billie Joe Armstrong is their main concern.

He says Armstrong is doing well in his attempts to kick substance abuse. Green Day will move up the release of "Tre" to December 11, more than a month ahead of schedule.

"Dos" comes out November 13.
