An eastern Indiana woman initially charged with felony child neglect resulting in death has been released from jail after the Randolph County prosecutor filed a notice saying he couldn't continue with an initial hearing.
The Star Press reports Prosecutor David Daly had until Friday to file formal charges or release 28-year-old Ana Guadalupe Monue of Union City.
Monue was arrested Monday. Police said they believed she initially buried the newborn outside her apartment building and later moved the body to a rural location in Randolph County.
Union City police Capt. William Bradbury said Tuesday it might prove difficult to prove a cause of death because of extreme decomposition.
Authorities say the investigation continues. Monue could not be reached for comment because there was no telephone listing for her.
