INDIANAPOLIS -
As police investigate a videotaped fight in the hallway of Howe High School, the student who was attacked said it was her best friend that was throwing the punches.
Misti Hall-Waupoose says she's still trying to figure out why the punches came from a classmate she never suspected.
"We were best friends. We were on the cheerleading team together, we hung out together sometimes," Misti said.
"It is flat-out aggression," said Floyd Peterson, a resource officer at another school.
Peterson stresses sometimes aggression can happen within your child's own circle of friends.
"Get to know who they are hanging around, get to know their attitude and the personality of the kids that our kids are dealing with," Peterson said.
Anti-bullying expert Kevin Trotter, who runs the website Become-An-Upstander.org, teaches students and their parents how to get to the bottom of aggressive behavior.
"These young ladies are teens, so there could definitely be some conversation about what is going on in their lives," he said.
"Pretty much, really, I got jumped and I didn't know that was going to happen like that," Misti said.
Although she is attending classes again, Misti says after a one-day suspension for fighting back, they plan to meet with police about the videotaped school fight.
