Semi on its side closes part of north split

INDIANAPOLIS -

A semi trailer rolled on its side while navigating the ramp where westbound I-70 joins southbound I-65 in the north split shortly before 4:00 a.m. Friday.

The driver was not injured.

Crews are on the scene, dealing with a fuel spill from the truck.  Westbound traffic from I-70 is blocked from driving past the scene of the crash.

Police are diverting westbound traffic to the local ramp that provides access to the Michigan/Ohio/Fletcher exits.

Police estimate the scene will not be cleared until after the morning rush, possibly 9:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m.

So far, traffic is flowing through the split and not backing up.
