Speedway man confesses to fatal stabbing

Speedway Police received a call shortly before 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night from a man who said he had just killed his girlfriend.

Speedway officers responded to the 1300 block of Norfolk Circle and found a 37-year-old woman with what appeared to be a stab wound. She was taken to Wishard Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Speedway Police arrested Brian Murphy, 30, in connection with the murder.

Murphy confessed to police that he killed the woman and then called the police.

The woman's identity will not be released until her relatives have been notified.
