The man who says he's Britney Spears' former manager took the stand in his defamation lawsuit against her parents yesterday.
Sam Lutfi told a Los Angeles courtroom he tried to protect Spears during her darkest days five years ago. Lutfi says he tried to get paparazzi off her back by texting them where she'd be so they'd follow at a safe distance.
He says he also set up meetings at her home with photographers so they'd get to know her as a human being.
Lutfi is suing Spears' parents, claiming her mother defamed him in her book, "Through the Storm," and he's entitled to a cut of Spears' profits.
