Britney Spears' label head testifies

Posted: Updated:
LOS ANGELES -

The head of Britney Spears' record label five years ago has testified he never knew Sam Lutfi was her manager.

Barry Weiss of Jive Records told a Los Angeles courtroom the only contact he had with Lutfi was when Weiss asked him to make sure Spears would be on time for a music video shoot. He says Lutfi never asked for a meeting with him.

Lutfi is suing Spears' parents, saying he was Spears' manager and he deserves a cut of her profits. He also says Spears' mother defamed him in her book, "Through the Storm."

The trial resumes today.
