INDIANAPOLIS -
A non-partisan coalition of the NAACP, the Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis, the Ten Point Coalition and other local faith-based organizations has launched an Early Voting Faith-Based Campaign.
The goal is to get church members to the polls for early voting on Sundays prior to the November 6 general election.
The coalition will focus its efforts on the voting hours before, during and after Sunday worship services. A "Main Early Election Event " is scheduled for Sunday, October 28 from 8am to 8pm at the City-County Building. The event will include music from church choirs, throughout the day.
Early voting is also available today, October 21.
"As people's lives become increasingly busy and demanding," said Pastor G, an organizer of the campaign and director of the Indiana Healthy Marriage and Family Coalition. "Faith leaders must take up the challenge to provide the support necessary to help their members participate in the most important and fundamental right we share as citizens of our nation--voting."
The polling location is the Marion County Clerk's Office in the City-County Building, 200 E. Washington Street. The Clerk's office is the only early voting site within Marion County.
In order to cast a ballot, you should bring a valid photo I.D. that has been issued by the state or the federal government. Without valid photo identification, a voter will not be allowed to vote.
