HARTSVILLE -

Police say a man and woman from Greensburg were killed in a fiery crash on a rain-wet highway in south-central Indiana.

The crash happened about 8 p.m. Friday on Indiana 46 about midway between Columbus and Greensburg.

Bartholomew County Sheriff's Maj. Todd Noblitt says the victims were identified as 21-year-old Danielle Catron and 22-year-old Jeffrey Washburn. A Hope woman who was injured in the crash was listed in stable condition Saturday at a Columbus hospital.

Noblitt says Catron was driving a van that slid across the center line and struck a car driven by 27-year-old Ann Schwartze of Hope. Noblitt says the van burst into flames and bystanders couldn't extinguish the fire.

Catron and her passenger Washburn were pronounced dead at the scene.
