100-pound man escapes Henry County jail through roof hole

NEW CASTLE -

Authorities say a 100-pound man who climbed through a hole in the roof to escape from an eastern Indiana jail is back behind bars.

The Henry County Sheriff's Department says a guard noticed that 29-year-old David Kline was missing from his cell Monday morning and that the hole was found in a nearby cell. The department says he was caught Monday night in Greenfield.

Kline was jailed after failing to appear in court Oct. 2 on charges of illegal firearms possession by a violent felon and intimidation

The Courier-Times reports that guards at the jail in New Castle stopped an escape attempt in August when inmates pulled back a steel sheet lining the ceiling and used a piece of metal to chip away at the concrete ceiling.
