Noblesville father spreads word about cervical cancer danger

INDIANAPOLIS -

A local father is going on national television Thursday to help protect women.

Kirk Forbes lost his 23-year-old daughter Kristen to cervical cancer caused by HPV.

His message on the Dr. Oz show is for women to get the vaccine which can prevent 70 percent of all cervical cancers. The pap test is screening that is recommended for women.

Forbes wrote a book, and set up a foundation and website in honor of his daughter. He will appear on the Dr. Oz show Thursday on Channel 13 at 2:00 pm.
