Child, 8, struck by car on Keystone Avenue

INDIANAPOLIS -

A child is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle on the east side.

Police say the eight-year-old was struck near the intersection of East 33rd Street and North Keystone Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The child was taken to Riley Hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the child remained at the scene after the accident, which remains under investigation. Police do not believe alcohol is a factor in the crash.
