A fatal accident Tuesday morning closed I-65 northbound at the Whiteland exit in Johnson County.

The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. at the 96.5 mile marker, which is a little more than a mile north of the Whiteland exit.

Upon arriving on the scene the Johnson County Sheriff's Department found a single commercial vehicle accident with a male driver ejected from his vehicle.

The driver was later identified as 38-year-old Christopher Buster of Indianapolis.

A witness who was driving behind the truck told authorities that the driver was swerving before the accident. Police tell Eyewitness News the vehicle drove off the interstate and overturned, ejecting the driver from the vehicle.

I-65 northbound at the 96.5 mile marker was closed from around 4:45 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. for accident cleanup and investigation.
