Man wanted for separate gas station robberies

INDIANAPOLIS -

Police are searching for a man who robbed an east side gas station last week.

Investigators say the man pushed a clerk out of the way during a transaction at the Speedway gas station at 1605 North Shadeland Avenue early last Wednesday morning (September 26). The man took an unknown amount of money and fled the scene to the north.

Police believe the suspect, described as a light-skinned black male in his late 20s, is believed to have been involved in a second robbery Monday (October 1) at the Speedway on West Churchman Avenue in Beech Grove. That crime also occurred in the early morning hours and involved the man shoving the clerk away from the cash register.

The man is reported to be around 5'7" tall, weighing about 140-160 pounds with a beard and mustache.

Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to call IMPD Robbery Detectives at 317-327-3733, or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS. Callers can also text "INDYCS" plus tip information to 274627.
