Two arrested in raid of Rush County marijuana operation

RUSHVILLE -

Two men were arrested as police shut down a marijuana cultivation operation in Rush County Wednesday.

Officers from four departments served warrants at two locations in Rushville after an eight-week investigation. Marvin Miller, 48, and Richard Moffett, 45, were arrested on preliminary charges related to the operation.

Officers searched a 40-acre farm at 5388 S. The Farm Road and a residence at 1148 W. Third Street in Rushville.

Excise police officers seized "a significant number" of marijuana plants, 21 guns, grow lights, hydroponic growing equipment and a variety of other evidence in their investigation. Officers from the Rush County Sheriff's Department, Rushville Police Department and Indiana State Police assisted excise officers in the raid.
