INDIANAPOLIS -

An early morning crash at 71st Street and Graham Road sent one woman to the hospital. Emergency workers needed more than a half hour to pull Kristin Appel, 21, from the car in which she was riding.

According IFD, medics were called when a white work van driven 32-year-old Terry Brown collided with a Buick driven by 20-year-old Zach Hatfield shortly after midnight.

Appel was a passenger in Hatfield's car, and was taken to IU Health-Methodist Hospital with injuries to her right shoulder, hip, and leg.  Medics described her condition as stable when leaving the scene.
