GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE -
Personnel from Grissom Air Reserve Base will conduct an explosive ordinance disposal exercise on Wednesday afternoon that may result in several loud detonations.
The event on September 26 is planned and should not be associated with real world events. The activities associated with the EOD exercise will be closely monitored by the base's Emergency Management Office and representatives from the Safety Office.
Grissom ARB conducts exercises on a regular basis to ensure its personnel are trained and ready to meet a variety of response scenarios. It is not uncommon for the exercises at Grissom to include the use of base sirens, loud noises and increased activity by security forces, fire department and other response personnel.
Grissom ARB is one of only five Air Force Reserve Command bases in the nation and it home to units of the Air Force Reserve, Army Reserve and Marine Corps Reserve.
