INDIANAPOLIS -

Update: Wayne Township Fire Department reports Dylon Mitchell was found safe early Tuesday morning.

Police are seeking help from the public in locating a missing Indianapolis child.

Investigators say 10-year-old Dylon Mitchell was last seen in the area of the Harrison Mobile Home Park at Rockville and Lynhurst around 5:45 p.m. Monday. The boy was spotted about two hours later, attempting to cross I-465 near Rockville Road, but fled into a wooded area. Officers believe Mitchell may be back in the area of the trailer park, as of midnight Monday, based on information they have received from residents in the area.

Mitchell is described as a white male, standing about five feet tall, weighing 75 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt, possibly with a black and white checkered pullover and gray jeans. He was wearing one white tennis shoe.

Anyone with information about the boy's whereabouts is asked to call IMPD dispatchers at (317) 327-3811.
