Giants dominate Panthers on Thursday Night Football

Posted: Updated:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The New York Giants were all banged up for their Thursday night road game against Carolina. That's probably a good thing for the Panthers, or else it could have really gotten ugly.

As it was the Giants routed the Panthers 36-7. Eli Manning, who was coming off an epic comeback while passing for 510 yards last Sunday, didn't need a big comeback this time. The Giants led 20-0 at the half and coasted.

Andre Brown ran for a career-high 113 yards and two touchdowns. Brown got the start in place of Ahmad Bradshaw, who sat out with a neck injury. Ramses Barden caught nine passes for a career-high 138 yards in his first NFL start.

Manning completed 27 of 35 passes for 288 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.

The defending champion Giants improved to 2-1. Carolina is 1-2.

The Super Bowl champs played without wide receivers Hakeem Nicks and Domenik Hixon, as well as running back Bradshaw and offensive tackle Dave Diehl.
