Indianapolis approves new towing rules

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

More changes are coming to protect you from predatory towing.

The City-County Council has passed an expansion of the city's predatory towing law which was first passed last year.

Under the changes, owners of city-towed vehicles will be able to pay with credit cards and online. Also, towing lots must be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

One of the lawmakers who introduced the changes said they will help streamline the process for drivers retrieving their vehicles.

The city approved a predatory towing law after 13 Investigates uncovered the questionable practice last year.
