Charges filed in Fort Wayne ambulance shooting

Posted: Updated:
FORT WAYNE -

Prosecutors in northeast Indiana have filed four counts of attempted murder against a Fort Wayne man accused of shooting at an ambulance and a vehicle following it.

The Journal-Gazette reports 24-year-old Traneilous "Neil" Jackson two counts of criminal recklessness and one count each of battery, carrying a handgun without a license and criminal gang activity. Authorities say the ambulance was hit by at least 16 bullets early Sunday. A paramedic suffered arm wounds and three people in another car were also shot.

Police say the shootings occurred as the ambulance was transporting a man who had been stabbed with a broken beer bottle at a nightclub.

Court records don't yet show an attorney for Jackson. He was being held in the Allen County jail without bond.
