Firefighters dealing with fuel spill in Fishers

Posted: Updated:

Fishers firefighters investigated a gasoline spill at 116th St. and Cumberland Rd. Monday morning.

Cumberland Road was closed between 116th and 106th while the spill at the BP/Rickers gas station was cleaned up. That has since reopened.

The Fishers Fire Dept. says up to 50 gallons of gasoline went into a storm drain. Crews were able to track it down and contain it. They also cleared the vapors from the storm drains.

A nearby medical building was evacuated. No injuries were reported.

Currently, no public streets are closed. Access to the Kroger shopping center parking lot was blocked at certain entrances but they have since re-opened.

Fishers Fire Department crews will remain on the scene for a final check.
