A funeral procession is planned through a southern Indiana city for a 21-year-old Marine killed during combat in Afghanistan.

The body of Lance Cpl. Alec Terwiske is scheduled to arrive Wednesday at Huntingburg Airport and then be escorted to a funeral home in Jasper, where visitation is planned for Thursday. WFIE-TV reports that a procession on Friday will travel under a large garrison flag suspended by fire trucks at Jasper's Veterans Memorial Bridge on its way to the funeral at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine.

Terwiske was from the town of Dubois and was a 2010 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School.

He was a Marine reservist and assigned to a combat engineer battalion. Military officials haven't given details about the circumstances of his Sept. 3 death.
