Rihanna/Jay-Z: close out paralympic games

Posted: Updated:
LONDON -

Rihanna has had a lot of honors during her life. But she says one of the biggest she has had was playing the closing ceremonies at the Paralympic Games.

The singer joined Jay-Z and Coldplay at Olympic Stadium in London to wrap up the games before 80,000 people in the stands. Rihanna said the disabled athletes who competed in the games "are gladiators" and are "a true inspiration" to her.

Rihanna performed "We Found Love" while swinging in a chair high above the stage. She and all the other performers were paid the British equivalent of $1.60 for their appearances. And organizers said even for the small payday, there were major artists who were turned down for the privilege.
