INDIANAPOLIS -
The severe storms didn't just bring rain to Central Indiana. The storms also caused problems for outdoor activities.
Friday night football was played Saturday. The Pike Red Devils welcomed the Lawrence Central Bears for the second time after rain and lightening stopped play Friday night.
Cheerleading Parent, George Crooks, described the storm Friday, "They moved everybody out of the stadium efficiently. Everyone was in their cars in ten minutes, and they called the game."
Evacuations were ordered for parents and students, who seemed not to mind, "Absolutely, safety comes first," said Crooks.
Two evacuation notices Friday night for those involved with Carmel's Greek Festival. It's a fundraiser for Holy Trinity Church. No tents or equipment were damaged in the storm. However, the money lost Friday most likely won't be made up. Organizer Dean Antonopoulos tells Eyewitness News, "It will be close if we break even after yesterday. It will be close."
The Chinese festival downtown and the The Penrod Arts Fair dealt with damper grounds Saturday for their one day events, but no other no problems.
It was a more frustrating situation up in Tipton for this year's 44th Pork Festival. The town lost power Friday night during the main musical act and 5,000 people had to be evacuated. Pork Festival organizers tell Eyewitness News they could be out up to $50,000 if Saturday's sales do not rebound.
