INDIANAPOLIS -

A portion of the Monon Trail will be closed to cyclists in October while repairs and improvements are being made.

The Department of Public Works is planning to perform drainage work on the Monon Trail starting at 75th street and working north, approximately 2,500 feet. Work will include the installation of two drainage pipes, ditch work, widening of the trail and resurfacing.

Crews will be clearing along the right-of-way which will likely result in the loss of some small trees and brush. The portion of the trail that will be under construction will be closed to bicyclists for 30 to 45 days.

A public meeting for adjacent property owners and interested parties will take place on Sept. 18, at the Indiana School for the Blind, 7725 N. College Ave, Indianapolis, 46240, in the auditorium, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.
