WEST LAFAYETTE -

Members of Purdue's band are taking their world famous drum to new heights.

The students created a winged version of "The World's Largest Drum," which they will fly in Chicago on Saturday. The craft was created as part of the Red Bull Flugtag.

The goal of the event is to glide the craft as far as possible over Lake Michigan, while entertaining the crowd with a spirited crew.
