CHARLOTTE, NC -
Besides former President Clinton, there was another powerful voice that got our attention from Wednesday night's Democratic National Convention.
Randy Johnson is a Hoosier who once worked for an Indiana company controlled by Bain Capital, the private equity firm Mitt Romney helped start. He told the convention that Romney doesn't have a moral compass.
Johnson walked out onto the stage at the National Democratic Convention with introduction. He had a message to share.
"I wanted to tell you about Mitt Romney's record of cutting jobs. Mitt Romney once said, 'I like being able to fire people.' Well, I can tell you from personal experience he does," said Johnson.
Randy Johnson worked at Ampad in Marion, Indiana when it closed its doors in 1995. It is an issue that has haunted Romney. Sen. Ted Kennedy aired a TV commercial focusing on Indiana Ampad workers who lost their jobs when Bain Capital closed the plant down.
"What affected me most was having guys the age I am now come to my desk and cry. Guys who had nothing left to fall back on. I don't think Mitt Romney is a bad man. I don't fault him for the fact that some businesses win and some lose. That is a fact of life. What I fault him for is making money without a moral compass. I fault him for putting politics over people like me," he said.
Now Johnson is part of a five-minute video circulated on the internet by the Obama campaign. In it, he talks to many of the same people who were in those Kennedy commercials that helped Kennedy defeat Romney.
It appears that this issue is not going to go away now that Romney is running for president.
