Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong was rushed to a hospital over the weekend.
Bassist Mike Dirnt says in a video message on the band's website Armstrong was taken to a hospital just before they were to perform in Bologna, Italy. He says the doctors determined it was not good for Armstrong to play.
Dirnt only will say Armstrong was hospitalized for "illness." Green Day are not scheduled to play another show until September 21 in Las Vegas.
