INDIANAPOLIS -

The Indianapolis Fire Department defeated rival Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, for the second year in a row at the IMPD vs. IFD Rib America Cook Off.

The competition was held Saturday at Military Park. Those attending the festival were able to sample both entries and vote for their favorite. IFD won with 118 votes to IMPD's 87. Some good natured ribbing took place between both agencies, with IFD Chief Brian Sanford and IMPD Chief Rick Hite leading the charge.

Title sponsor, Michaelis Corporation, gave $500 to the winner's charity of choice. IFD was playing for the Indianapolis Fire Buffs Organization, which provides on scene assistance to public safety personnel. IMPD was playing for Heathers Voice, which aims to educate teens about dating violence and domestic abuse. A private donation of $250 was given to the runner up.

Firefighter Jeff Mattingly was the Rib Chef for IFD and Officer Tiffany Haston was the Rib Chef for IMPD.
