Bobby RahalBobby Rahal has always been into fast cars. He's now intrigued by fast sleds as well.
Rahal has been appointed chairman of the recently created USA Bobsled and Skeleton Foundation, where the three-time IndyCar champion and 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner will help oversee fundraising and development efforts for the sliding sports.
The announcement was made Friday in Baltimore. Rahal's IndyCar team is racing there this weekend.
Rahal tells The Associated Press that he considers his new position with the bobsled and skeleton teams to be "a huge responsibility." He also says it's a great time to get involved with the bobsled and skeleton teams, with both expected to win medals at the 2014 Sochi Olympics.
