GREENWOOD -

The owner of a pizza restaurant in Greenwood was arrested Wednesday for dealing marijuana and illegal alcohol sales, police say.

Ricky L. Carter, 51, was arrested at his business, Massey's Pizza, on Melody Ave. in Greenwood Wednesday. The arrest stems from a five-month investigation by Indiana State Excise Police and the Greenwood Police Department.

Police say they received tips and complaints about illegal activity taking place at Massey's. Undercover detectives bought marijuana and alcohol from Carter at the business during the course of the investigation. Police say Carter did not have a license to sell alcohol.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Massey's Pizza and an arrest warrant for Carter on Wednesday, and he was arrested at the restaurant. According to police, a search of the business turned up more marijuana and alcohol.

Carter was booked into the Johnson County Jail on the charges of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Dealing Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia and multiple State alcohol offenses with a $21,000 bond.
