Family safe after fleeing house fire

Posted: Updated:
INDIANAPOLIS -

New this morning: a family of four is safe after their home caught fire around 4:30 this morning.

Firefighters sent us these pictures from a home in the 5800 block of Timber Lake Blvd on the city's southeast side.

The homeowner thinks the fire started near an outside light fixture, then traveled up the walls and into the attic.

The entire house is gutted, but the family is safe, thanks to working smoke detectors.
