Indiana Sports Corp's Geared for Health program collects and distributes donated sports equipment to help underserved local young athletes have the equipment they need to jumpstart a more active lifestyle while encouraging a commitment to good health. The program collects new and gently-used donated sports equipment from manufacturers, retailers, institutions, events and individuals, and distributes it to not-for-profit, youth-serving organizations, sports leagues and sports clubs.
Three upcoming collections:
Saturday September 22 at Woodland Bowl, 1 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday September 23 Colts Game Day Collection at Lucas Oil Stadium, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Tuesday September 25 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. , drive through drop off on Bankers Life Court
WTHR, led by collection drive co-chairs Anne Marie Tiernon and Dave Calabro, is providing promotional support along with long-time partner St.Vincent.
Over the past five years the ISC Geared For Health: Sports Equipment for Kids Program has collected more than 850,000 in equipment and distributed that equipment for the benefit of more than 135,00 local youth through 160 Indianapolis area non-profit organizations. The most recent equipment distribution on April 13-14 included 11,000 items to 90 local organizations.
